With over 10 years working experience in Social work. Studying the interactions of human beings and on a larger scale how human behavior affects society; his credentials, record of accomplishment and volunteer experience all telling about his unwavering dedication to Social work, Mr. Mark is the current Programs Officer and Overseer of Programs at ELOI.
He has also served as the Programs Director at Hope Mbale, an NGO that fights for the rights and privileges of the marginalized members of all the seven (7) Bugisu sub-region Districts (2019-2021). He was also Community Development Facilitator in charge of Food Security at World Vison International Nampologoma Kachonga Cluster. (2014-2018). Child Coordinator at Compassion International (2012-2014). Child Care Officer at Bushikori Christian Center, a leading Charity organization in Mbale sub-region.
As a young grandaunt, Mr. Mark worked on Volunteer basis at the Prestigious Uganda-Czech Development Trust as a Community Based Mobiliser serving in the social care field, with especially children and families affected by HIV/AIDs. Passionately listening to their challenges and finding strategies to help solve them.
Mr. Mark offers a Bachelor’s Degree in Social work Social Administration from Christian University Mukono. Also trained and certified in Public Administration & Management and HIV/AIDS Counselling & Testing from Makerere University and The AIDs Support Organization (TASO-Mulago) respectively.
He was recognized and awarded for distinguished service as a Programs Director at the end of the Deep Engagement Grant (DEG) of the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) in 2021 where he was pitted against two (2) other Programs Directors of Different Organizations that were Implementing Partners (IPs) of the grant (DEG).
Mr. Mark has also successfully written and won proposals, notably, three that include one in Rural Electrification where 300 homes in the poorest regions of Namatala Mbale received solar energy lighting (2012), Won 2000 books on Christian Literature for the Bushikori Christian Library (2012). HIV/AIDS Prevention and Treatment grant as part of a comprehensive public health Approach. (2019)
Mr. Mark’s love for helping people overcome seemingly insurmountable predicaments, led him to venture into the field of Social Work several years ago and subsequently to ELOI where he continues to serve in our Programs Department overseeing programs development, seeking grants and proposals, overseeing budgets and manage projects.
