This Sunday, July 26, as families observe Global Parents’ Day, we honor the extraordinary sacrifices made by mothers, fathers, and guardians across rural Uganda. For parents living in deep economic poverty, the desire to give their children a quality education is often met with heartbreaking financial barriers. Even when tuition is subsidized, the hidden costs of schooling—such as examination fees, uniforms, textbooks, and daily meals—frequently force parents to pull their children out of the classroom.

By the Numbers: Restoring Hope to 516 Families
Through the ELOI Bursary Scheme, we partner directly with parents to lift these financial burdens, ensuring that talented young boys and girls complete their education. Currently, our educational pipeline directly supports 516 brilliant children, structured intentionally to address specific regional vulnerabilities:
Total Active Educational Sponsorships: 516

Deepening the Impact: School Outreach and Parent Committees
Our sponsorship model is built on active partnership rather than passive aid. Through our dedicated school outreach program, ELOI field officers work closely with local parents:
- Parent-Teacher Engagement: We organize regular community forums where parents can track their children’s academic progress, attendance, and emotional well-being.
- Livelihood & Savings Support: We link student guardians to community savings groups and sustainable skill workshops, helping families build financial resilience so they can support their households long-term.
